Start the race

The Christmas season can become a race to the finish line and the faster you run the harder it gets to stop and enjoy the journey.

The aim of this blog is to provide regular stopping moments to remember, reflect and record the amazing work that is achieved through the lens of Big Red Box and King’s Christmas Trees, so to help you know, that view will definitely include the Jericho Road Project where we tell stories of the year as well as providing a daily look as we help many people.

But this blog might also provide a perspective on the election process which will only add to the sense of frantic busyness.

Relief. Hope. Connection.

I hope you are able to join me on a journey that will remind us of the priceless value of each and every human being, that when we provide Relief (food, housing, advice) to the neediest, Hope (rebuilding individuals hope in themselves and the world around them) follows closely after. And one of the most satisfying parts of this season is that for many who get involved it builds Connections (a groups of people who help support us) that help people we work with stay strong through the ups and downs of life.

The King's Christmas Trees site officially launches today. It is day one! A nice surprise is that many people didn’t wait for launch day, they have already ordered their trees!

So at the start of another Christmas journey, I wonder what I would do with all the time and mental capacity if I was not responsible for Big Red Box (BRB) and King's Christmas Trees (KCT). One day I will get to find out what everyone else fills their time with but for the time being my aim this year is to enjoy every day and hopefully this blog will help that happen. And I hope you enjoy it too!
